Elke Wouters has tracked the Belgian market since 2019 and works through every operator himself with an emphasis on the maths behind bonuses. Lives and works in Leuven.

How we test. we create a player account ourselves, deposit via Bancontact, request payout and record the turnaround. We check the operator against the Gaming Commission's white and black lists and read the bonus terms line by line. What we did not establish ourselves is not mentioned.

Player protection in Belgium is arranged considerably more strictly than a few years ago with concrete consequences for your account. By default €200 per week per site may go in. Downwards it goes without an intermediate step, going beyond that takes a review and time.

EPIS is the Gaming Commission's central exclusion system: the exclusion applies instantly across the whole licensed landscape. The request goes through the regulator itself. Casino, gaming hall and sports betting are 21-and-over since 1 September 2024; the National Lottery is the exception at 18. A trial account falls under it too.
